Bittium Corporation announced that its Bittium Tough Mobile™ 2 C solution has been approved by the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA) for NATO Restricted level use. The solution is now listed in the NATO Information Assurance Product Catalogue (NIAPC). The Bittium Tough Mobile™ 2 C includes a smartphone with dual-boot functionality for personal and confidential use, the Bittium Secure Suite™ for device management and encryption, and the Bittium Secure Call™ application for end-to-end encrypted communication. This approval allows NATO countries to use Bittium's secure mobile communication solutions, which are designed to meet high-security requirements for governmental organizations. Bittium is a Finnish company specializing in advanced radio communication technologies and secure communications, with a net sales of EUR 75.2 million in 2023.
Bittium Wireless Ltd, a subsidiary of Bittium Corporation, has entered into a Framework Agreement with BAE Systems Digital Intelligence to offer Bittium's tactical communications products, services, and systems to BAE Systems' customers in the UK and internationally. The agreement, which runs from 2024 to 2027, does not include a minimum purchase commitment or exclusivity. BAE Systems, a major defense operator, and Bittium plan to jointly participate in future tenders for tactical communications requirements, including offering the NATO-standard ESSOR High Data Rate Waveform supported by Bittium Tough SDR™ radios. The first tenders under this agreement are expected in the latter half of 2024. Both companies expressed their commitment to leveraging this partnership to enhance their technological offerings and expand in international markets. Bittium specializes in secure communications and connectivity solutions, while BAE Systems focuses on defense, aerospace, and security solutions.
