YIT Corporation has been selected as a partner by the Turku Tramway Alliance for the project management contract of the Port of Turku-Varissuo tramway line's depot and power supply station structures. The main clients are Turun Raitiotie Oy and the City of Turku, with service providers including NRC Group Finland Oy and others. YIT Corporation has begun constructing a self-developed apartment building, Asunto Oy Tampereen Ohjaaja, in the Tohlopinranta residential area. The construction started in November 2024 and is expected to finish by December 2025. The six-storey building, located on the shore of Lake Tohloppi, will consist of 38 apartments ranging from 23 m² to 100.5 m², all featuring balconies. The building will incorporate environmentally friendly features, including water-circulating ceiling heating panels, district heating, solar panels, and renewable electricity during construction. It will also facilitate green living choices for residents and minimize construction waste. The area offers natural surroundings with access to recreational activities. Upon completion, traffic will be redirected to create a green park area, enhancing the district's appeal.
