YIT Corporation announced a contract to construct a rental building in the Kangas urban development area near Jyväskylä's center. The design is inspired by the former Kangas paper mill, part of Jyväskylä's significant urban development project, Kangas, which was named District of the Year 2024 by the Finnish Local Heritage Federation. The area is close to recreational areas and city services. YIT Corporation has signed a project management contract with Hitachi Energy to construct a new production and technology center in Mustasaari, Finland. The project, valued at approximately EUR 105 million, includes facilities for product development, testing, and a high-tech transformer production center to double Hitachi Energy's transformer production capacity in Finland. The construction, covering around 44,000 square meters, will start in February 2025 and is expected to be completed in early 2027.
